• Of the trainees enrolled by the School, 73% have passed the official theoretical examination of the Spanish State Railway Safety Agency (Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Ferroviaria en España).
  • The milestone comes on top of the achievement reached in the penultimate round, where students achieved a 100% pass rate in the practical exam.
  • The School also offers an employment exchange to its students to work as machinists in Transfesa Logistics.

Madrid, jun 2022.- 73% of students at the Transfesa Logistics Railway School who registered for the theoretical test in the latest State Railway Safety Agency (AESF) call for applications have successfully passed the theoretical exam to become train drivers. This figure is more than 20 points higher than the overall average pass rate, which stands at 51% of all registered candidates.

The success of this test is added to the one achieved a few weeks ago where, in the light of the results of the practical exam of the last examination held last February, the Railway School announced the milestone of having achieved a 100% pass rate.

Both results confirm the company’s educational path, which is currently launching the tenth edition of its train driver course that will begin on September 12th. The enrolment period for this 10th year begins on 1 July.

With a duration of 1,150 hours, divided into 650 hours of theory and 500 hours of practice, this training course enables the train driver’s licence and diploma to be obtained jointly.

The theoretical part of the 10th call will be given in person at the operator’s approved classrooms in the railway complex of Madrid-Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station. Once this phase has been completed, an exam will be held to gain access to the practical training module.

The second phase will be completed with the use of the Escuela Ferroviaria’s 335 locomotive simulator, cabin accompaniment practices, effective driving on track and manoeuvring practices in railway terminals, as well as other practices in terminals and facilities operated by Transfesa Logistics. Transfesa Logistics has its own traction goods trains throughout Spain.

As a distinguishing feature, the Railway School only carries out practical training with trainers-machinists with at least 2.5 years of experience since they obtained their AESF qualification.

After passing the training programme, students sit the official examination of the State Railway Safety Agency, which is responsible for granting the train driver’s licence and diploma.

Santiago Bullido, head of the Railway School: “Our successful results are due to our commitment to quality teaching. We have a team of highly qualified trainers in theory and practice who are active in the company and who enable our students to take the AESF exam with full guarantees”.

The training centre offers students who successfully complete the training an employment exchange to work as machinists at Transfesa Logistics.
