INTERMODAL TERMINALS, MANEUVERING AND FERROPORT SERVICES
Strategic partner
At Transfesa Logistics, we have extensive experience in the management and operation of intermodal terminals, as well as the provision of rail-port services. We manage intermodal terminals, some of them located within the production plants facilities and we offer maximum reliability in the loading and unloading of containers and swap bodies. We take care of rail and DEPOT manoeuvres and value-added services.
CHANGE OF AXLES FACILITIES
We open the doors to Europe
At Transfesa Logistics, we manage the only two facilities that enable the international traffic of interchangeable axle railcars between the Iberian Peninsula and Europe.
Because of the difference in track gauge between the Iberian Peninsula and the rest of the European continent, the different track gauges need to be managed. We do this by using railcars with interchangeable axles, suitable for the two different track gauges: European or UIC and Iberian (1,435 and 1,668mm respectively).
What does the axle change consist of?
Axles are changed at the following facilities which are located at two border points: Cerbère and Hendaye and have been in operation since 1950.
