Transfesa Logistics’ drive to advance in the implementation of a sustainable logistics chain, with the railway at its core, provides great value and increases ambition on the objectives priority issues in terms of mobility, such as SDG 13 “Climate Action”.

The United Nations Global Compact Spain has organized several activities to commemorate the 6th Anniversary of the approval of the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Among them, the seminar entitled “The 2030 Agenda through SDG Ambition”, in which Transfesa Logistics has been invited to share with the attendees its experience in participating in the training program that was carried out in the first semester of 2021 as well as the implementation of this methodology in the organization.

In this event, the Sustainability and Environment Manager of Transfesa Logistics, Isabel Núñez, shared the company’s experience in this program with the attendees, as well as the implementation of the SDG Ambition methodology that has been carried out in the corporation. In addition to this, she presented the group’s commitment to achieving the 2030 Agenda and the integration of the 17 SDGs in the business strategy. Núñez especially highlighted those objectives that are a priority in the “Responsible Business Policy”, as well as those that have been identified as benchmarks in the transportation sector in the SDG Ambition program. More specifically, the initiative that Transfesa Logistics has carried out to move forward with, is the implementation of a sustainable logistics chain, based on the railway, that provides great value and increases ambition regarding priority objectives in terms of mobility, such as SDG 13 “Climate action”. 

SDG Ambition: A program to accelerate the SDGs

The first edition of the United Nations Global Compact´s accelerator program “SDG Ambition”, concluded with the participation of more than 650 companies from 65 countries and brought together 7.9 million employees. In Spain, 67 companies have been part of this initiative, organized in our country by the United Nations Global Compact Spain, including Transfesa Logistics. 

The main points resulting from this training have been collected in a dossier that has just been published. This document also includes an analysis of the results achieved during the six months of work with the 67 Spanish companies that participated in the program. Among other points, the focus is placed on the level of satisfaction and implementation, as well as on quantifiable objectives and their roadmaps.
