· Spaniards consider that the most worrying effects of the coronavirus crisis are on the economy and employment.

· “They have offered me the chance to get a job that I would probably never have found in Spain”, David Riera, aspiring shunter.

Madrid, April 2022.- Unemployment and economic problems are the two main concerns of Spanish society. This is reflected in the latest March 2022 barometer prepared by the Spanish Sociological Research Center.

After the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Spaniards consider that its most worrying effects are on the economy and employment. This is in line with the report “Analysis of the labour market: enrolment and unemployment data for March 2022” by Randstad Spain.

The data collected show an increase in the number of people affiliated to the social security system of more than 140,000 people, a figure below the pre-pandemic average. Moreover, despite this increase in enrolment, unemployment fell by 2,921 people in March, the second worst figure since 2012.

According to this, the number of unemployed stands at around 3.11 million people. Transfesa Logistics, a company of the DB Cargo group and a leading company in sustainable transport and logistics solutions, is helping to alleviate these figures by launching a selection process for ground staff to work at DB Cargo in Germany.

The campaign represents an opportunity for stable employment and possibilities for training and continuous improvement. David Riera, a young man from Palma de Mallorca, who joined DB Cargo’s employment programme at the end of 2021, explains it.

“They have offered me the chance to get a job that I would probably never have found in Spain. What’s more, this includes a previous training, which is also paid. What more could you ask for?”, says David Riera.

The selection process is still open and you can take part in it through this link.
