The company joins this initiative in order to join forces and advance in the achievement of a more sustainable economy and society.
Transfesa Logistics has joined the “Spanish Group for Green Growth”. The company’s objective is to join forces with the business network that comprises this initiative to promote a sustainable economy.
The company, a leader in door-to-door logistics and freight transport solutions, is the leading private railway operator in Spain. In addition, it has the most extensive network in Europe, backed by its alliance with DB Cargo, a company of the group to which it belongs.
One of its four strategic pillars is the defence of the environment and the fight against climate change. The purpose of Transfesa Logistics is to transport goods in the most sustainable way possible through a greener and more structured intermodal railroad system, thus contributing to the decarbonization of transport, the achievement of the 2030 Agenda, and the objectives of the Paris Agreement and the Green Deal.
Along these lines, international rail traffic for high-demand automobile and food products transport continues to be strengthened, as more and more companies that traditionally did not use the railroad are joining the “green growth” and sustainability challenge.
Worthy of note are the new services to export olive oil to Belgium or the express connexions to Great Britain and Germany. Likewise, an agreement has been reached with Euro Pool System to promote the “CoolRail powered by Transfesa Logistics” route. It is the first direct rail connexion for refrigerated products between Valencia and Rotterdam that will also reach other destinations such as Scandinavia, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
For the CEO of Transfesa Logistics, Bernd Hullerum, this is one more step in the company’s climate policy: “We want to do everything possible to make visible the advantages of freight transport by rail as the best way in terms of sustainability and we think that Green Growth is a great opportunity to have the best allies with us in this process ”, he indicates.
