Transfesa Logistics, DB Schenker, and Arriva join forces in Spain in cooperation with different charities that help the most vulnerable groups during the pandemic. The three companies, which are part of the Deutsche Bahn AG group, have agreed to complement each other’s solidarity initiatives against the coronavirus. In this way, they intend to provide the maximum possible support in terms of transport and logistics to the institutions with which they collaborate, at a time when their activity has registered a considerable increase.
DB Schenker and Arriva in Spain reinforce the help that Transfesa Logistics was already providing to institutions such as the Food Bank, to which it already gives storage space in its logistics centre in Alcalá de Henares, or to the Madrina Foundation, for which it carries out solidarity freights several days a week. For its part, DB Schenker has already committed to giving up storage space for several weeks, in addition to carrying out daily transport for them. Also, Arriva will offer a free transport service, just as it did with the health personnel during the state of alarm, when it enabled a bus line for more than fifty days for the health workers staying at the Hotel Ciudad de Móstoles who worked in the Rey Juan Carlos I hospital, Alcorcón Foundation and the University of Móstoles centres.
Transfesa Logistics CEO, Bernd Hullerum, highlighted that from Transfesa Logistics “we provide logistical and transportation support to various non-profit institutions that serve those most vulnerable. In this pandemic, the need has been so great that the possibility of making a group agreement means that we can give much more support than we are now giving to all the institutions we help, including the Food Bank or the Madrina Foundation”.
