Transfesa Logistics has a new CEO as of today. Idoia Galindo has been a member of the Executive Committee of the leading company in sustainable transport and logistics solutions for 14 years. She began as Director of the Corporate Legal Department and later became Director of Risk and Insurance. In 2016, she took over as Director of Asset Management and Operations, focusing in recent months on optimising the Group’s international rail corridors linking Spain with the UK and Germany.

Bernd Hullerum has been at the helm of Transfesa Logistics for the past 12 years, during which time he has managed the company’s transformation from a family business to an integral part of DB Cargo’s European network. Not only has he managed this financial and market turnaround, but he has also been at the helm of the company during the last two major crises, the financial crisis of 2008 and the global Coronavirus pandemic. After achieving major milestones such as the expansion of the company’s logistics services, always putting the customer at the centre, he is taking on new professional challenges.

The appointment of Idoia Galindo as his successor means, having been in the company and on the Executive Committee since 2008, a smooth and successful change. This appointment also reaffirms the company’s commitment to female leadership, as Galindo becomes the first woman to head Transfesa Logistics in its 79-year history. Idoia Galindo has extensive experience in the business sector, having worked for companies such as KPMG, as well as extensive training: she has a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid (CEU San Pablo), a specialisation in EU law from the San Pablo CEU University and a PDG (General Management Programme) from the IESE Business School.

The new CEO of Transfesa Logistics faces, among other great challenges, the contribution to position the railway as a key element in the fight against climate change through campaigns such as Mercancías al tren.
