Transfesa Logistics is recruiting for a career in the rail sector for its parent company DB Cargo in Germany, Europe’s largest rail transport company.

Following the success of previous calls for applications, the company is launching a selection process to fill new positions for ground staff for railway shunting in Germany. The offer includes a free German course in Spain, depending on the applicants’ level, a paid training of four or five months in Germany and the subsequent incorporation into DB Cargo’s staff with an indefinite contract and development opportunities within the company.

On this occasion, the initiative stands out for being a continuous offer.

Requirements

Among the requirements to be part of this job offer, those interested must have a high school certificate or equivalent vocational training, as well as an interest in travelling to Germany, working outdoors, doing physical work and a willingness to work in shifts. It is also desirable that the candidate has a passion for trains or has previous experience in Germany, either through work or study.

Main tasks of railway shunting staff

The main areas of the position include, among others, working with trains in the shunting yard, checking the safe loading of freight wagons and supervising the loading and unloading of freight wagons.

The German company offers development plans for its staff. Successful candidates start working as ground staff, but in the future they can be trained and become train drivers on DB Cargo trains.

Selection process

The selection process will be coordinated in Spain by Transfesa Logistics. Depending on the candidate’s current level of German, a personalised itinerary will be designed and he/she will be able to attend language classes adapted to his/her knowledge.
