The members involved are Equimodal, IN-MOVE, by Railgrup, J. Lanfranco and Navlandis.
The four new participants thus show their support and reinforce the initiative in its quest to give greater prominence to the train and achieve a decarbonized logistics chain.
The “Goods by Train” campaign continues to add members. Now, Equimodal, IN-MOVE, by Railgrup, J.Lanfranco and Navlandis are the companies that have decided to join this initiative with the aim of supporting the transformation of the transport sector and moving towards sustainable mobility and low or zero emissions.
On the one hand, Equimodal is a company that designs, manufactures, approves and integrates containers, swap bodies and containerized solutions for intermodal transport and any logistics, industrial, energy or emergency application. “From our company we promote the transport of goods by rail as the only real alternative to reduce CO2 emissions associated with logistics activity. It is urgent, our planet cannot wait and together we can achieve a more climate-friendly logistics,” said María Domínguez, director of Equimodal.
On the other hand, IN-MOVE, by Railgrup was created with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of the industry and the railway sector, aware of the importance of rail development at all levels. In order to enhance the global competitiveness of its members, it promotes a multi-modal, multi-product and multi-customer strategy to enhance the enormous advantages of rail transport. “In-Move, by Railgrup joins the Mercancías al Tren campaign to highlight the value of rail freight transport and move freight to the train to reduce CO2 emissions in the transport sector,” says Enric Tiró, president of the company.
For its part, J. Lanfranco is a French company specialized in the manufacture of high-end self-locking nuts and safety fasteners. “For J. Lanfranco it is important to implement and participate in all kinds of actions that fight for the improvement of the environment, such as the Goods on the Train campaign. Today, we not only have to support such initiatives but also do our part to change our environmental footprint,” explains Karin Schinasi, the company’s Export Manager.
Finally, Navlandis is a Spanish startup that was created to make transport more sustainable, innovating in the freight container sector. Its first development in this regard is Zbox, an innovative foldable container for intermodal transport that aims to reduce operating costs and environmental impact.
“At Navlandis, we share with the Goods to Rail campaign the objectives of enabling companies to make their supply chains as environmentally friendly as possible, facilitate climate-friendly logistics and combine rail and road in an intelligent way. In addition, the container plays a fundamental role in the intermodal transport of goods, and at Navlandis we are convinced of the value that this foldable container can bring to the efficiency and optimization of the logistics chain,” says Miguel Navalón, CEO of Navlandis.
With these four new additions, “Mercancías al Tren” is reinforced in its quest to give greater prominence to the train and thus achieve a decarbonized logistics chain. The campaign aims to raise awareness among public institutions, the business sector and society in general of the importance of transferring an important part of the transport of goods to a more environmentally friendly mode, such as the railroad, thus reducing emissions in a sector that is responsible for around 29% of total greenhouse gas emissions in Spain.
