From February 2021, the company will store 150 tons of basic necessities at its logistics center in Alcalá de Henares.

Transfesa Logistics reinforces its commitment to the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL) and its 54 associated Food Banks. Due to the specific demand for more storage space, since February 2021, 150 tons of essential goods have been added to the Alcalá de Henares warehouse, distributed on 303 pallets, which will be shipped out in July and August.

According to Antonio Martos Quintana, manager of Transfesa Logistics’ logistics platform in the Corredor del Henares, the company’s commitment to this organization has intensified in the last five months. “The increase in donations received, caused by a greater demand from society to the Food Banks, has made it necessary to give them additional space to deposit the products, hence throughout 2021 we have helped as much as possible to cover this requirement.”

Martos recalls that cooperation with associations, such as Food Banks, is very necessary, since, although the incidence of cases seems to be decreasing, “there are still many families affected by the consequences of the pandemic and they need this type of support to get out of this emergency situation”.

Aware of the role that companies play in improving the social environment in which they operate, Transfesa Logistics works closely with various non-profit organizations such as the Fundación Madrina, the Götze Foundation and the Spanish Federation of Food Banks and its 54 associated Food Banks. These activities respond to its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, in this case specifically to SDG 1 and 2, “End Poverty” and “Zero Hunger” respectively.
