· The second convoy of the humanitarian corridor consists of 21 containers and swap bodies.

· Donations from Madrid and Valencia have already left for Colonia with final destination Ukraine.

· The operation in the Valencian Community has been supervised by the Regional Minister of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi España.

Transfesa Logistics, national promoter of the humanitarian corridor launched by DB Cargo from Germany, is coordinating the shipment of the second train with solidarity goods that has already left the intermodal railway station of Silla, in Valencia, to the German city of Colonia, where it will join the corridor bound for Ukraine.

In total, this convoy adds 400 tonnes of donations to the wave of solidarity with Ukraine.

The train has been completed with goods from Madrid and Valencia. It will transport, in a single journey, 21 containers with donations from different NGOs, town councils and institutions, channelled through the Community of Madrid and the Generalitat Valenciana, which has managed the goods in the logistics centres set up in Valencia, Alicante and Castellón.

The Regional Minister of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi España, was in charge of supervising the 220 tonnes provided by the Generalitat Valenciana.

With regard to this new shipment, the councillor explained that the role of the companies involved in the operation is “decisive in channelling all the solidarity and ensuring that it reaches the people of Ukraine as soon as possible”.

The three companies involved in the initiative operate in Valencia, making this project possible, which has been promoted by Transfesa Logistics. And, together with DB Cargo, it organises the operations, provides traction in France, Germany, Poland and Ukraine, and provides wagons, containers, trucks, warehouses and the operation of changing wagon axles, both on the Spanish-French border and on the Polish-Ukrainian border. For its part, Renfe Mercancías provides traction in Spain, wagons and containers for this solidarity corridor.

Grupo Alonso has also collaborated with the company, which has provided a total of eleven lorries to collect humanitarian material in Alicante, Castellón and Valencia and transport it to the intermodal terminal in Silla. There, the holding company is collaborating in the loading of the containers onto the humanitarian train that will travel to Ukraine.

Arcadi España was accompanied by the CEO of Transfesa Logistics, Idoia Galindo, who, together with the General director of Social Dialogue Coordination, Zulima Pérez, the General director of Public Works and Transport, Roser Obrer, and the President and CEO of Grupo Alonso, Jorge Alonso, was in charge of monitoring the shipment to Ukraine.

For her part, Idoia Galindo explained that “this second train has left thanks, once again, to the collaboration of many people, both public and private institutions, and we are proud to be able to promote this project from Transfesa Logistics”.

The shipment, with material from Madrid, Alicante, Castellón and Valencia, will transport non-perishable food, hygiene and sanitary material, as well as shelter material -sleeping bags, tents and mattresses-.

This corridor is available to NGOs, institutions or companies that have large volumes of donations and will allow transporting all this wave of solidarity directly to Ukraine, as the railway is the only mean of transport that is currently able to enter the country.
