• The latest addition to the campaign is the largest manufacturer of containerised solutions in Spain and one of the most important in Europe.
  • This new union adds forces to the initiative that aims to raise awareness among companies, institutions and society in general about the key role of the railway in the fight against climate change.
  • “We are joining the “Freight belongs on rail” campaign to actively contribute to reducing CO2 emissions in logistics”, Carlos Casero, communication director of Eurocontainer.

Eurocontainer, the largest national manufacturer of containerised solutions, and one of the most important at European level, joins the sustainable mobility campaign “Freight belongs on rail”.

In the words of Carlos Casero, communication director of Eurocontainer, “our adhesion to the campaign “Freight belongs on rail” is an opportunity to actively contribute to reduce CO2 emissions in logistics activity and help to decongest traffic on our roads. We want to join it to achieve a more environmentally friendly means of transport. It is also an effective alternative to the global supply threat that a lack of carriers can pose”.

Eurocontainer bases its activity on providing solutions in 3 main sectors: energy (storage, transformation, data centres and generators), defence and intermodal transport, which is key to sustainable mobility that aims to achieve a logistics chain that uses the right transport option for each stage. Combining the environmental advantages of rail with the flexibility of road: trains for the long leg of a route between terminals, and trucks for the “last mile” between the terminal and the customer’s premises.

With this adhesion, a new ally is added to the objective of raising awareness among public institutions, companies, organisations fighting against climate change and society in general of the importance of increasing the share of rail.
